An internal sliding door can be a nice and practical feature in a room. They’re especially useful for places without enough space for a standard one to open, such as narrow hallways, as they close right next to the wall or glide into a wall cavity. A sliding door can also include a fixed part, or have one leaf or more of them. It opens/closes by means of rails or manually. The only downside is that this type of door has poor insulation and soundproofing performance, so make sure you install it in a room where these characteristics are not important. A sliding door can be made of wood, aluminium, PVC, or tempered glass. Sliding glass doors make every room look lighter and bigger, so they’re prefect for small flats. Thanks to state-of-the-art solutions and materials, entire walls can glide, and these are mostly used for temporary partitioning of room, e.g. to separate the living room from the dining room and kitchen, etc. Check out other advice we’ve prepared for you, and use our calculator to see prices of doors varying in shape, size, and colour, and the cost of their installation.
