When we sleep with windows open during the summer, the biggest problem we face are insects. Mosquito screens are an effective solution because they still allow air circulation and daylight into the room, but they keep pollen and insects away. Fly screens can be installed on every window and door. They’re usually made of a dense, fine, and high-quality net, which is hardly noticeable. Mosquito screen frames are made of PVC, aluminium, or stainless steel, and they can be coloured. They can be shaped to resemble curtains—plissé, roller, integral, fixed, or hinged mosquito screens. Roller mosquito screens are top-hung and you can pull them down over the window or door when needed. Sliding and hinged mosquito screens are perfect for balcony doors or large glazed surfaces in a modern house. A hinged mosquito screen can also be installed on the external door. Windows and doors that are not used frequently can be fitted with fixed mosquito screens. Integral mosquito screens are concealed as they’re installed within (Venetian) blinds’ boxes.
