People usually decideto demolish an old building when they want to build a new one at that place or simply get some space. To demolish a building, you definitely have to contact specialized contractors. According to a new construction act, there are two ways to get a permission for demolition—either as a permission to demolish a building or as part of a planning permission, in which case demolition is considered part of preliminary works for constructing a new building, so it must be planned out and included in design documents. Either way, you first have to apply for an approval of construction works, secure the site (you have to ensure free and protected access to the existing building), and install temporary traffic signals if needed. A house should be demolished in this order: all utilities connections in the house should be disconnected, all equipment, windows, doors, fences, retaining openings and structures, cladding, roofing should be removed, non-load bearing and load-bearing walls should be removed, followed by removal of floors, load-bearing structure connective elements, and finally, the foundation. The last step involves removal and proper disposal of construction waste, or you can use it later for backfilling.
